The top of each petal touches the 0.625" wide, raised lip, which provides perching room for birds, and the 2.25" depth allows many birds to safely bathe.
The included, wrought iron bracket sports an upward facing thread, perfectly connecting to the threaded port on the base of the bath.

This bracket arches easily over metal or wooden deck rails from 1" to 5.5" wide, and a large thumb screw can be tightened to keep it in place. This makes the assembly ideal for those who cannot alter their outdoor settings, as it does not require drilling holes or adding hardware to remain secure.
