Where Should They Be Placed?
You’ll need to place your chimes in an area that has enough of a breeze to help them make some noise. According to feng shui, they help bring in new healthy energy where old collected energy is stuck. The placement of them is as follows; metal wind chimes should be placed in the west, northwest and north, while wood or bamboo chimes can be set up in the south, east and southeast areas.
How Do They Work?
The vibrations of the pipes in them radiate the sound you hear after they’re struck by something. This usually involves the clapper in the center of the wind chime striking the pipes after the wind moves its position. The will make a little tinkling sound, soothing sounds as the wind blows in your outdoor spaces.Wind chimes make musical magic you'll hear is quite amazing, even in a gentle breeze. they make the perfect gift and come in a range of different color options. Many are also hand tuned, and handmade. Some people will also call them a wind bell.
How Are They Made?
Traditional they are made using a combination of aluminum tubes, wood, braided nylon string, and metal fasteners. The process involves cutting the wood top into the desired shape and treating that wood to withstand the elements. Holes are drilled into the wood so the strings can pass through to hold the pipes. The pipes are cut and computer tuned or hand tuned to provide the pitches you hear when they’re struck. Holes are then drilled into the pipes so they can be suspended from the top.
The entire wind chime is then assembled by hand, (and hand tuned) by stringing the line through the pipes and top which is linked to the hanger and clapper. The last step is attaching the hang tie. We have a helpful article on making your own wind chimes.

You can always dry them with a damp cloth.
